ePaint Company is committed to "Green Boat Maintenance" by responsibly developing and marketing marine coatings that are non-toxic to humans and safe for the environment.

How ePaint Bottom Paints Work:

All ePaint products are free of copper, tributyltin, and other biocides that persist in the environment.  ePaint coatings combine novel patented photo-active technology with environmentally preferred active ingredients to provide you with a safe, effective alternative to traditional bottom paints.

ePaint antifouling and foul release coatings combine several different mechanisms to keep your boat hull clean:

> The main mechanism found in all ePaint coatings is a patented photo-active technology that is unique only to ePaint's.   Energy from visible light in the water column is used to combine water and dissolved oxygen molecules to form hydrogen peroxide that blankets around the boat hull, creating a surface inhospitable to bio-fouling animal larvae such as barnacles and zebra mussels.  Hydrogen peroxide is very effective at deterring bio-fouling from settling yet quickly decomposes back into water and dissolved oxygen.

> ePaint coatings are comprised of different ablative resin matrix's designed to wear at different rates; some ePaint products offer very hard finishes for racing and high speed boats while others are softer and designed for boats that sit mostly idle.  In all cases, the controlled wearing of the paint helps release bio-fouling from attaching.

> ePaint antifouling coatings contain U.S. EPA approved actives to prevent growth from attaching.  ePaint has made a conscious effort to formulate only with actives that break down quickly and do not persist in the environment.  ePaint antifouling paints are formulated with either Zinc Omadine® or SeaNine 211N™ to effectively prevent bio-fouling in a responsible manner.  These actives comprise less than 5% by weight of the coatings dry film, compared with 40-75% cuprous oxide found in traditional antifouling paints.

AirMaax High Output Wind Turbine

The AirMaax wind turbine is the ONLY wind turbine on the market that has a factory integrated Amp meter and data logger built into its included charge regulator.  The regulator not only gives you real time Amp data, but also records the daily Amps produced by the wind turbine, which helps the cruiser have a better understanding of his ships charging system and available battery power.  This feature also means that you can trust the output performance data we provide because you will be able to see exactly how many Amps are being produced at a glance!

A unique feature of the AirMaax design is that the wind turbine produces AC power in the wind turbine (as others do) but then rectifies the power to 12volts DC at the regulator rather than in the wind turbine.  This allows for the use of much smaller (and less expensive) electrical cables from the wind turbine to your regulator located near your battery bank, saving on voltage loss and putting more power into your batteries.  The regulator controls the wind turbines output to maintain maximum power going to your batteries, as well as having the ability to float your batteries when they reach full charge.

ElectroMaax designed the AirMaax wind turbine for optimal performance in the wind speed range most typically experienced by cruisers, 8 to 20 knots.  The 6 blade design is able to not just start spinning in lighter winds than other units, but actually produce useful amounts of power in the lower wind speeds.  It’s nice to have a wind turbine that can put out a lot of Amps during a 37 knot gale, but how often does a cruising boat experience those types of winds?  Not very often if you want your wife to stay out cruising with you!  The cruiser cares about the Amp output in typical every-day winds experienced in a nice comfortable anchorage, which are 8 to 20 knots.
